The texture and structure of cobalt catalysts of the Fischer-Tropsch synthesis

We show that the mixing and peptization of pseudoboehmite with cobalt nitrate causes changes in the size of pseudoboehmite globules in such a way that cobalt ions balance the surface charge of boehmite. The texture of cobalt-containing samples is determined by the size of pseudoboehmite globules and their stabilization by cobalt ions at the temperature of the phase transition of pseudoboehmite into γ-Al 2 O 3 . A thermally stable texture is formed when the content of cobalt (recalculated to CoO) is approximately 15 wt %.
