The main objective of this study is to determine the positioning of the Institutions of Higher Education of Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi and attributes meet that manage to position each in the high school students, who are considered potential candidates to join these institutions when choosing a profession. It is a study of quantitative type, descriptive and correlational cross design. The population under study are students. The sample size was 198 students, 33 from each institution of higher average level. A non-probability sampling based on the personal judgment of the researcher was used. The collection of positioning information held by a structured and open and closed using Likert Scale questions questionnaire. The positioning of the five institutions of higher education was measured by variables such as Academic Reputation, Quality Education, Facilities, Student Mobility, Grants, Quality \ Price, academic, educational offer, social and sporting activities in addition to job opportunities. They were valued according to the perception and preference. The results allowed to meet the higher education institution best positioned, what attributes make it stand out from others and determine which school of origin if influences the preference for Higher Education Institution.
