Biomateriales para la regeneración del reborde alveolar: revisión

2014
We present a systematic review of the biomaterials used in the regeneration of the alveolar ridge at the loss of three-dimensional bone volume, in order to summarize the results obtained in the last fifteen years to inform the dental community effectiveness thereof. Scientific evidence indicates the effectiveness of hydroxyapatite, connective tissue, bone tissue, plasma rich in growth factors and chitosan in the regeneration of the alveolar ridge. Is demonstrated healing of soft tissue and bone regeneration progressive use of hydroxyapatite, is also highly compatible. With the use of connective tissue is recorded soft tissue augmentation in width and height, provided with a favorable color healing. Bone tissue has become the choice of filler material in reconstructive procedures maxillary alveolar atrophy to be a common component and accessible. The use of plasma rich in growth factors optimized maturation stimulates the soft tissues and bone formation, alveolar ridges equally treated with chitosan showed that it exerts an antimicrobial function, wound healing, analgesic. We recommend  further research and clinical studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of chitosan in humans.
