Performance Evaluation of Interference Coexistence in Dense Urban Scenario for 5G NR System

2018
With the advancing standardization of 5G systems, the study on interference coexistence problem in 5G system is becoming more and more crucial both in industry and academic. Moreover, the analysis method and simulation parameters for 5G new radio (NR) system are significantly different from those in mature LTE system due to the wider bandwidth and higher frequency. Thus it is necessary and urgent to study the interference coexistence issue in 5G system. In this paper, we analyze the coexistence problem of two 5G NR systems in dense urban scenario. Specifically, we consider the random drop network deployment that is selected in the 5G standardization, and the Manhattan network deployment which is more similar to the dense urban scenario. Moreover, the simulation model consists of propagation model, power control, beamforming, and link level performance model. To investigate the intra-system and inter-system interference, we utilize the Monte Carlo static snapshot approach and apply system level simulation. According to the simulation results, we get the necessary Adjacent Channel Interference Power Ratio (ACIR) between two 5G NR systems.
