40MHz piezocomposite linear array with one-wavelength-pitch

This paper investigates the design and development of a 40MHz linear array using piezocomposite and micro-machining technology. First, the pulse echo waveform and directivity have been simulated and optimized by modelling tool. Second, a special micro-machining process has been developed to fabricate the piezocomposite material and the linear array. Finally, the test result of the sample is compared to the KLM prediction. A 1.5-wavelength array will be presented to show the difference on the directivity performance.
