The invention discloses a modular multi-channel optical power meter and a realization method thereof. The modular multi-channel optical power meter comprises a principal computer and 2 OPM (optical power meter) modules, wherein n is a positive integer. The principal computer comprises a clock signal CLK module, a function state control enabling module, a data/instruction module, and a feedback module, and all the modules of the optical power meter are independent of one another and can be replaced through plug and pull at any time. The measured value of each channel can be read and displayed at any time. Data acquisition, SRAM and E2ROM of the modules can be controlled individually or simultaneously. According to the invention, the operation on the 2 OPM modules can be controlled with only four groups of control wires, wherein n is the number of state control wires S. According to the invention, the multi-channel optical power meter can be expanded, and lower product cost and higher efficiency are achieved.
