14 C Aminopyrine Breath Test(14 C-ABT) for Measurement of Liver Reserve Function in Cirrhotic Patients

Objective:To observe the relationship between 14 C ABT and liver reserve function in cirrhotic patients.Methods:The CO 2 that the cirrhotic patient giving up after taking Aminopyrine capsule with 14 C labeled(37 kBq) two hours were collected and detected for 14 C. The results were compared with other diferent kind liver function test.Results:The lower value of 14 C ABT showed that it had relationship with level of serum bilirubin (SB),serum albumin(A),serum globulin(G),A/G,prothrombin time and prothrombin activity.It had negative correlation with AST.All the patient with the value of 14 C ABT below 1% were died in three months.Conclusion:The results suggest that 14 C ABT is a good index for prognosis of cirrhosis and eveluation of liver reserve function in cirrhotic patients.
