Diabetes and Male Infertility

Diabetes mellitus is one of the most common medical conditions in the world. One of its major effects includes its impact on the male reproductive system. Up to 90% of diabetic men are affected by some kind of sexual dysfunction, such as erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, and decreased libido, which can impact male infertility. Through various pathophysiological changes in cellular and hormonal mechanisms, this chapter describes the diabetic changes that compromise fertility.
