Isolamento e identificação de bactérias utilizadores de metanol

Sixty four bacterial cultures, able to grow aerobically on a mineral basic medium and methanol as sole carbon and energy source, were isolated. All cultures showed to be aerobic facultative methylotrophic. Among them, four were fermentative and were identified as Serratia marcescens, Klebsiella oxytoca Enterobacter agglomerans and Hafnia alvei. One was non-fermentative and was identified as Pseudomonas stutzeri. References about this strains as methylotrophic were not found
