Sarı çayakarı Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks) (Acari: Tarsonemidae)’un sebze seralarına bulaşma yolları üzerine bir araştırma

2013
In this study, the infestation period of Polyphagotarsonemus latus (Banks) and the factors playing role in infestation were investigated in vegetable greenhouses. The study was carried out in and out of green pepper and eggplant growing greenhouses located in Cakirlar region of Antalya between autumn 2004 and 2005. In this study, sticky traps and plant samplings methods were used during the sampling period. The results of samplings showed that cotton whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (Genn), played a central role in dispersal of broad mite into greenhouse however other carriers of broad mite such as thrips, aphids and leaf miners did not play important roles in transport mechanism of this pest. Phoresy was higher in and out of greenhouses in September, October and November. The level of dispersal was very low in December and was not observed during the rest of year. Samplings performed nearby greenhouses showed that some weed species such as Rubus fruticosus L., Erodium cicutarium sups. bipinnatum L’Herit, Geranium rotundiflorum L. and Anagallis arvensis var arvensis L are detectable hosts for P. latus and the mite can survive on these weed species in the absence of vegetation in greenhouses
