The invention provides a preparation method of a tobacco extractum glycyrrhizae maillard reactant, and an application thereof. The method comprises the following steps of: (1) carrying out reflux extraction and filtering by ethanol after cutting glycyrrhiza into segments, and then further concentrating to obtain extractum glycyrrhizae; and (2) mixing the extractum glycyrrhizae, sugar and proline according to the mass ratio of 10: 1.5: (0.5-0.8); and carrying out maillard reaction for 4-6 hours at the temperature of 90-110 DEG C, so as to obtain the tobacco extractum glycyrrhizae maillard reactant. According to the preparation method, by applying the extractum glycyrrhizae to a cigarette after maillard reaction, spicy excitant of the tobacco can be restrained; the miscellaneous smell is covered; smoking smell is corrected; fragrant and sweet flavor is added; and the maillard reactant emits sweet smell to the tobacco, so that the tobacco becomes full, and has the effects of dispersing and enhancing the aroma concentration. The preparation method is mild in reaction condition, simple in required equipment, low in cost, and easy to achieve industrial production, and has strong practicability.
