Nucleic acid analysis device and nucleic acid diagnostic procedures

There is provided a nucleic acid analysis device, which is capable to rapidly detect abnormalities and the like. This device is equipped with a temperature control block (1) for holding a tube (10) comprising a sample, provided a photometer (6) and a device diagnosis unit. The photometer (6) with an LED (11) for irradiating the temperature control block (1) in a state where the block maintains the tube (10), and a fluorescence detector (20) for detecting from the sample in response to the radiation emitted by the LED (11) light provided. The device diagnosis unit causes the LED (11) to direct light to the temperature control block (1) in a state in which the block does not hold the tube (10) to conduct, causing the fluorescence detector (20) for detecting the scattered light received and diagnosed the photometer (6) on the basis of the intensity of scattered light.
