Tamsulosin combined prostate massage therapy for the patients with IIIB chronic prostatitis

Objectives To analysize the effect of α-receptor blocker tamsulosin combined with prostate massage therapy for the ⅢB chronic prostatitis. Methods 45 cases with Ⅲ B chronic prostatitis received the therapy of α-receptor blocker combined with prostate massage for 8 weeks. Then compare the prostatitis syndrome score and uroflow rate changes after therapy. Results All patients completed the treatment course of 8 weeks. Before and after treatment changes: pain score (18.1 ±1.2; 8.1 ± 0.9), voiding symptom score (7.9 ± 0.7; 3.7 ± 0.4), the quality of life score (9.2 ± 1.1; 3.9 ±0.3); Qmax (18.2 ± 2.1ml / s; 23.1 ± 2.4 ml/s) , the average flow rate (12.1 ± 1.7ml / s; 16.2 ± 1.4ml/s). There were significant differences before and after treatment by the statistical test( p <0.05). Conclusions α-receptor blocker combined prostate massage therapy can alleviate symptoms and improve the quality of life of the patients with ⅢB chronic prostatitis.
