Background Research indicates that experiencing poverty in childhood increases risk for adverse medical and social outcomes across the lifespan. Evidence-based, parent-focused preventive group interventions such as Legacy for Children™ (Legacy) can improve developmental outcomes for at-risk children (Kaminski et al., 2013). Integrating parenting interventions into primary care clinics - trusted settings where families routinely access services - has been recommended to reduce barriers to participation and increase program uptake (Leslie et al., 2016).
