Comparative analysis of CT imaging findings between adult mycoplasma pneumonia and streptococcus pneumonia

2017
Objective To analyze the CT imaging findings of adult mycoplasma pneumonia and streptococcus pneumonia to improve the early diagnosis and curative effect of mycoplasma pneumonia. Methods CT images of 52 patients with mycoplasma pneumonia and 45 patients with streptococcus pneumonia were analyzed retrospectively. Results In this study, clinical characteristics of patients with mycoplasma pneumonia were in line with the previous literature. The CT imaging findings of mycoplasma group were diversified and characterized by bronchial wall thickening, ground-glass shadow and centrilobular nodules. The bronchial wall thickening was found in 49 cases (94.2%, 49/52), ground-glass attenuation in 47 cases (90.4%, 47/52) and centrilobular nodules in 45 cases (86.5%, 45/52). Besides, the lung consolidation shadow was found in 28 cases (53.8%, 28/52)and pleural effusion in 11 cases (21.2%, 11/52). Conclusions CT imaging findings of adult mycoplasma pneumonia are diversified, with certain characteristics, which is of great significance in early diagnosis and differential diagnosis.
