State recognition system and state recognition method

The present invention is a state recognition system which recognizes the state of a travel path travelled by a vehicle, and is provided with: an analysis unit which analyses an image captured by a vehicle-mounted camera mounted on a car; a travel path determination unit which assesses the state of the travel path on the basis of a result analyzed by the analysis unit; and a lens diagnosis unit which extracts deposited material on a lens of the vehicle-mounted camera from the image, assesses the type and amount of the extracted deposited material, and diagnoses the state of the lens on the basis of the assessment result.
