Tendencias actuales en la caracterización de polímeros

An examination of different intrinsic characteristics in polymers as well as some of their properties and techniques used for their characterization has been performed. Some of the characterization methods can be considered as traditional ones whereas the utilization of some others started less than a decade ago. The technological progress in different fields makes the number of characterization techniques really high. Some of them have been already used for other type of materials (ceramic or metallic) and now they become worthwhile in the polymer area. However, there are several techniques completely novel in material science. The author realizes the different characterization methods further commented are not all of the existing ones. Exclusively, an insight in some techniques currently used in the characterization of polymeric structure and properties is pursued.
