Another new academic year is nearly upon us! As the Summer B term starts and thousands of students begin their FIU experience, we have an unprecedented opportunity to build community and deepen our students' connections to our FIU.

There are many dimensions to our Worlds Ahead experiences. All can give meaning in building our academic community and pride in FIU. We hope we can count on you to help us build school spirit and Blue and Gold Pride by supporting our student athletes. We have an exciting sports season ahead of us with football, volleyball, and soccer right around the corner! Homecoming is a pivotal opportunity to celebrate our affinity with FIU. Can you believe that our October 1, 2011 football game brings Duke to the Alfonso Field at FIU Stadium? This year’s Homecoming will be magical. It expands on the energy of joining thousands of Panthers celebrating their attachment to FIU at last year’s Homecoming, when we welcomed back alumni and their families, watched a spirited parade, danced with our Dazzlers, cheered with our cheerleaders, and boosted our team to a victory over Louisiana-Monroe!
