Analysis about achievement of HIV/AIDS prevention-related knowledge among local drug users and the ways to get the knowledge.

[Objective]To understand the achievement of HIV/AIDS prevention-related knowledge among local drug users and the ways to get the knowledge.[Methods] Investigated HIV/ AIDS-prevention knowledge achievement and the way to get the knowledge among drug users who came from local community and drug rehabilitation center by having them filled in interviewer-administrated questionnaire anonymously.[Results] 43.1% of drug users who involved in the investigation got 8 points (the full score).83.5% of drug users got the score more than 6 points.50.7% of drug users selected television as one of the ways to get knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention.However, only 13.2% of drug users selected VCT as one of the ways to get knowledge.The ways to get knowledge were more, the score of HIV/AIDS prevention-related knowledge were higher.[Conclusion] VCT coverage should be enlarged and all kinds of ways to distribute the knowledge about HIV/AIDS prevention to population especially for those who have high risk behaviors should be applied as well as behavior intervention.
