ACO Based Optimization of DC Micro Grid Under Island Mode

Nature inspired algorithms are generally used in finding the solution for different optimization problems. In this paper, we have modeled and simulated the dc micro grid by using MATLAB/SIMULINK Software. A hybrid energy system has been taken i.e., Solar and wind energy systems which are connected to grid from their end. A solar MPPT technique is used to obtain maximum solar power. Optimization of solar MPPT is done by Nature inspired Ant Colony Optimization (ACO). This energy from solar is inverted to alternating power and is then connected to grid, while the power obtained from wind is connected in a beeline to the grid. The Grid is assumed to be under islanding mode.
