Taeniasis — The Tantalising Target

A few years ago it seemed possible, even probable, that recent developments in several fields would mean that effective, logistically feasible control of taeniasis-cysticercosis would be achieved within a relatively short time span. This expectation was largely based on work on Echinococcus or Taenia saginata but there seemed little reason to doubt that much could be applied to other taeniid cestodes, including Taenia solium.
