THE CREATING OF MOBILE PHONE DICTIONARY USING JAVA 2 MICRO EDITION

Key Word : Dictionary; Mobile Phone; Java 2 ABSTRACT : Along with the development of recent technology, mobile phone is not only used as a communication tool but it has many uses with a variety of applications contained therein, for example, we can listen to the radio or music, play games, take photos, record video and others. With the development of various types of applications found on mobile phones and the importance of language in communication, the writer makes a dictionary application which aims to facilitate users in translating words from English to Indonesian and from Indonesian to English, as well as adding to the user vocabulary. Programming language used to create these applications is Java 2 Micro Edition. In making this application, the writer gets the information through the dictionary for words and meaning, while for the Java 2 Micro Edition obtained from the book, the documentation contained in the software and also from the internet. This application consists of four menus that are creating a database to create database dictionary in mobile phone users, looking for the meaning of which is used to find the meaning of a word which is entered by users, added the database to add words and their meanings which are not in the database, instruction which contains instructions use this application to users. From the results of trials that have been made, it can be said that this program can work well. With the application of this dictionary is expected to provide benefits and convenience to the users.
