Analysis of intracranial pressure continuously monitoring on 2058 cases of patients with traumatic brain injury

2008
Objective To investigate the guide effect of intracranial pressure (ICP) continuously monitoring for the patients with severe traumatic brain injury (sTBI). Methods ICP continuously monitoring was conducted by the brain parenchyma or ventricle 1CP monitoring respectively in 2058 cases of the patients with TBI. We observed the relationship between ICP levels and the vital sign, prognosis, and analyzed the therapeutic effect of CSF extemal ventrieular drainage and some reducing ICP treatment respectively in these patients. Results The intracranial pressure (ICP) continuously monitoring had no complicated any serious intracranial infection and hemorrhage. The CSF continuously external ventricular drainage had a significantly effect to reduce ICP,the negative correlation between ICP levels and prognosis was observed. Conclusion Continuous ICP monitoring is a safe, easily doing method,it could offer available parameters, let doctors know intracranial pathologic changes, and make exact early therapeutic regimen, and evaluate prognosis of the patients with TBI .
