Historically, it is fitting to accept the term fish vertebra as the synonym for severely demineralized biconcave human vertebrae, recognize the pattern as normal for many fish species, and honor Fuller Albright—who clearly linked the term with postmenopausal osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases.
