Characterization of dual band MIMO antenna for 25 GHz and 50 GHz applications

in this paper, a millimeter-wave reconfigurable MIMO antenna suitable for 25GHz and 50GHz applications is presented. The proposed antenna is suitable for the 5th mobile generation, radar and handhelds support satellite applications. The frequency reconfigurability is achieved using a PIN diode, introduced in the antenna’s radiating element. Also a comparison in terms of return loss, isolation and gain are carried out between three 1×2 element MIMO antennas with λ/2 spacing and different rotations. The proposed models are designed using HFSS electromagnetic simulator based on Finite element methods (FEM) and compared using CST microwave studio simulator based on Finite integration technique (FIT).
