Numerical Study on the Performance Enhancement of Ultrasonic Motors Using Single Crystalline Piezo-Materials

This paper examines the performance enhancement of a newly designed ultrasonic motor by using single crystalline piezo-materials Pb(Mg 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -PbTiO 3 (PMNPT) and Pb(Zn 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 -PbTiO 3 (PZNPT). From numerical simulations, it is found that PMNPT and PZNPT can greatly improve the mechanical performance of the motor.
