The German Contribution to Project Galileo

The Galileo Mission is part of NASA’s “Solar System Exploration Program” and of the program “Forderung der extraterrestrischen Grundlagenforschung” of the German Federal Ministry for Education and Science (Bundesministerium fur Bildung and Forschung, BMBF). By exploring our solar system, especially by comparing the planets, answers to the basic questions should be pursued: Where do we come from? Where do we go to? Are we alone?
