Intent-based Service Function Chaining on ETSI NFV Platforms
2019
The emerging network paradigms allow service providers to completely rethink the way network services are designed, developed, provisioned, and managed. Service Function Chaining allows to easily deploy complex and composite network services by concatenating one or more physical or virtualized components. However, a step forward in terms of abstraction is needed, and an intent-based approach to service chain specification is considered a promising solution. We demonstrate how to achieve intent-based SFC specification on an ETSI NFV environment, running on top of an experimental test bed based on commonly available open-source software platforms, such as Open Source MANO and OpenStack.
