Design of Computer-aided knee replacement surgery system
2013
Objective: To design an assistance systems of knee replacement surgery, which is able to simulate the 3D structures of the tissue and the prosthesis, auxiliary medica staff surgical plan. Methods: The system uses a network layered with .NET development technologies based on open source imaging software development kits ITK and VTK, which has a simulation of the affected area 3D structure and quantitative measurements to estimate the spatial location of the lesion with the prosthesis to provide decision support for health care workers information. Results: The system not only shows that during surgery the tissueand the prosthesis position, distance, knee replacement surgery operation auxiliary information, but also provides a new way for the doctor-patient communication and exchange. Conclusion: One hand the system can both help to improve the design of knee prosthesis and make it more consistent the knee complex morphology, thereby reducing the prosthesis-bone interface loosening incidence; On the other hand, help to understand the surgical process and intuitive master position between tissue and prosthetic materials, help to develop or modify the surgical plan, which provides a good reference for the adjuvant treatment of similar diseases.
