PHOTOLYSIS OF Δ2-TETRAZOLINES: FORMATION OF DIAZIRIDINES

UV-irradiation of Δ2-tetrazolines (1) resulted in the elimination of nitrogen molecule to afford 1,2,3-trisubstituted diaziridines (2). This procedure constitutes a novel method of formation of diaziridines, especially 1-aryldiaziridines, in yields of preparative value.
