Differential thermal analysis of Hg1−xMnxTe alloys in the x=0–0.3 range

Abstract The solidus and liquidus temperatures of seven Hg 1− x Mn x Te ( x =0–0.3) alloys were determined using differential thermal analysis. The phase diagram developed from these phase equilibrium measurements was used to clarify uncertainties in the existing Hg 1− x Mn x Te phase diagram and enabled the authors to calculate the variation of the segregation coefficient with solidus composition for the Hg 1− x Mn x Te system in the x =0–0.3 range.
