Meshless nodes definition analysis for electromagnetic numerical computation

2017
In this paper, the nodal placement of radial point interpolation meshless technique for finite difference time domain method is investigated. The first widely applied placement is a manner similar to the point-matched time-domain finite-element method, which is convenient for the regular node distribution. Another one is the Voronoi decomposition which is applied to nonuniform distribution. The point-matched method does not take full advantages of adaptive characteristic of meshless method for complex problems. While the Voronoi decomposition is time consuming for 3-D case and may suffer from the matrix singularity of the associated polynomial basis function. An alternative solution is discussed by utilizing hybrid application of the above two methods.
