Sorption Change in Electric Resistance of a Varnished Cambric Insulation by Exposure to the Microscopic Fungus Aspergillus niger

2020
It is established that the reversible decrease in the electrical resistance of a varnished cambric insulation when exposed to Aspergillus niger is due to the increase in the conductivity of the material as a result of sorption in its volume of electrically conductive substances produced by the microorganism. Kinetic models of a decrease in the electrical resistance of the insulation under conditions of the growth of a microscopic fungus on it are proposed. The models can be used to develop a method for determining the resistance of insulating materials to the effect of a microbiological factor.
