Stability of the Blood Suspension and Zeta Potential of Blood Components
1971
A great number of experimental, clinical and pathophysiological researches have hitherto been directed towards the phenomenon commonly called “sludge”. This complex and very controversial phenomenon can be defined as a loss of stability of the blood suspension, which is reflected by an aggregation of the blood components (AKOUN and LARCAN). Several theories have been proposed to explain this phenomenon (KNISELY; BLOCH and POWELL; SWANK).
