Implicações Geológicas e Ecológicas para Assentamentos Humanos Pretéritos – Estudo de Caso no Complexo Arqueológico Campo das Flores, Área Arqueológica de Serra Negra, Vale do Araçuaí, Minas Gerais

This paper aims to present the technical and methodological procedures used by staff LAEP/UFVJM (Laboratory of Archaeology and Landscape Study of the The Federal University of the Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys, Brazil), to realize the geo and environmental characterizations for Archaeological Complex denominated ‘Campo das Flores”, a component of the Archaeological Area of Serra Negra, Northeast of Minas Gerais, Brazil; as well as the reflections that can be obtained by gathering data from the culture and nature. For this, the team conducted various field works: geomorphological and geological characterization, sediment analysis, to identify the recent fauna, among others, in order to obtain data that cooperate to understanding the cultural repertoire and the assemblage systems observed in 21 sites complex components. The intention is to collect data on the nature and culture by applying concepts worked much in the literature such as: place and landscape, foraging, mobility, etc.
