The reaction of C₃F₇Fe(CO)₃[P(C₆H₅)₃] I with liquid ammonia yields, dependend on the reaction-time C₃F₇Fe(CO)₂(NH₃)₂I and [C₃F₇Fe(CO)₂(NH₃)₃] I. In the contrary, C₃F₇Fe(CO)₄ I undergoes ammonolysis forming NH₄F, NH₄I, NH₄NCO and CO (NH₂)₂. No stable iron-complex could be obtained.
