KARAKTERISTIK BAYI YANG LAHIR DARI IBU HIV POSITIF DI RSUP MOH HOESIN PALEMBANG PERIODE JUNI 2016-JUNI 2020

HIV-infected pregnant women are at risk to transmit the disease to the babies their carried. It could happen in pregnancy, delivery, or breastfeeding. This study aims to identify the outcomes in babies born to HIV-infected mothers at Dr. Moh Hoesin Hospital Palembang.This is a descriptive observational study. The data were taken from the medical records of babies born to HIV-infected mothers at Dr. Moh Hoesin Hospital Palembang from June 2016–June 2020, include infant gender, gestational age, APGAR score, maternal antiretroviral, HIV/TB coinfection, delivery method, and HIV infection status in infant. Of the 30 medical records available, 27 met the inclusion criteria. The dominant gender was female, 15/27 (55,6%). Prematurity was found in 7/27 cases (25,9%). There was one case of spontaneous delivery (3,7%). Another 26 babies (96,3%) were delivered by c-section. APGAR score was 8/9 (88,9%) and 7/9 (11,1%) in the first 5 minutes of life. Of the 3/27 babies (11.1%) had low birth weight. There were 2/27 babies (7,4%) in small for gestational age arm. The maternal antiretroviral was noted only in 14/27, where 7 mothers were on therapy (25.9%), while the 7 others were not (25.9%). Only one HIV-infected woman (3.7%) had HIV/TB coinfection. HIV status in infants only could be recorded in 9/27 babies (33.3%). All of them (9) were confirmed as negative. The outcomes include prematurity, low birth weight, and small for gestational age.
