Mitigation of Scintillation Effect Using Spectrum-Sliced Incoherent Light Source for Free-Space Optical Communication

2020
We propose to utilize the spectrum-sliced incoherent light source for mitigating the adverse effects of atmospheric turbulence in free-space optical communication systems. We show through computer simulation based on phase screens that this cost-effective light source improves the scintillation index and receiver sensitivity under strong turbulence conditions.
