Supporting doctoral students in the process of writing a research proposal

The purpose of this essay is to propose some reflections and possible guidelines on how to make the research proposal preparation a positive experience for both the doctoral student and the supervisor. Drawing upon existing literature, the essay outlines a potential action plan that could be followed by supervisors supporting doctoral students in the process of writing their research proposal.
