Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device. In the manufacturing method, liquid crystals in a liquid crystal panel are converted to a solid state prior to processing of the liquid crystal panel, so as to substantially enhance pressure resistance of the liquid crystal panel and prevent breakage of the panel due to pressure during processing. In addition, the liquid crystals in the liquid crystal panel are cooled to a solid state prior to polishing of the liquid crystal panel. The solid state liquid crystals function to anchor photoresist columns (10, 8) within an enclosed space, such that the friction force on force bearing points at the top of a panel sealant (6) and photoresist columns (10, 8) is converted from a sliding friction force to a static friction force. In this way, the present invention improves anti-sliding performance on the surface of a liquid crystal panel, reduces occurrence of PI debris during the polishing process, and thus reduces the risk of creation of Zara particles.
