The Distribution of Soot in the Cylinder of a Quiescent Combustion Chamber Diesel Engine

Mathematical models for soot formation and combustion have been suggested by many research workers (1, 2, 3), but detailed knowledge of the quality, amount and distribution of soot in engine cylinders is relatively sparse. This work aims at providing such information for one particular case.
