A MIMO Fuzzy Model to Predict Turning Metrics

The technology process, requires certain important parameters, including the surface roughness of the manufactured workpiece and the forces during the cutting. Surface roughness of the manufactured workpiece affects the later functional, tribological properties. The applied forces also affect the deformation and the size accuracy of the finished piece. In this paper a novel MIMO fuzzy-based method is proposed, which is able to predict the resultant force and surface roughness with a high rate of accuracy, in the case of the turning process. The usability of the model is presented through a case study.
