Predator Recognition in Prey Animals and the Application in Reintroduction Program

2012
Predator recognition is a hotpot in contemporary ecological research. Some prey species possess genetically programmed abilities to recognize predators, while other studies contrastingly find that some prey may require to learn about particular stimuli to express recognition responses and evidence for social learning about dangerous predators and cultural transmission of predator recognition and teaching has been found in many animals.Present research and development of predator recognition in prey animals outside the country are reviewed in this paper. These results are significant to the theoretical research and practical applications of ongoing rehabilitation as well as reintroduction programs.
