Provided are: a device for evaluating gas barrier properties, the device comprising a polymeric support and a transmission-side chamber, and the support supporting a specimen and being coupled to an opening part of the transmission-side chamber, wherein the device for evaluating gas barrier properties has a supply-side chamber which has a polymer film between the support and the specimen and which is arranged so as to be capable of being in close contact with the specimen and be capable of being raised and lowered, and an outer-side chamber for covering a region sandwiched between the polymer film and the support; and a method for evaluating gas barrier properties in which the device for evaluating gas barrier properties is used.
