Salvia celendina (Lamiaceae), a new species from Peru

A new species of Salvia (S. celendina J.R.I.Wood & Uria) is described from the Maranon valley hotspot in northern Peru. The new species is illustrated with photographs and its distribution is mapped. Notes on its cultivation and distinctive characteristics are provided.
