TRANSALKYLATION OF BENZENE WITH DIISOPROPYL BENZENE OVER SUPPORTED HETEROPOLY TUNGSTIC ACID CATALYSTS

2003
The efffects on transalkylation of benzene with diisopropyl benzene over supported he teropoly tungstic acid catalysts were studied, including feed composition, heteropoly tungstic acid loadings( l cat ), mass ratio of catalyst to reactants ( m cat / m rea ), reaction temperature( T ), reaction time( t ) and molar ratio of phenyl(C 6H 5-) to isopropyl((CH 3) 2CH-) in diisopropyl benzene ( n (C 6)/ n ( i C 3)) . The reaction of benzene with diisopropylbenzene is a equilibrium system containing several reactions. The composition of products was related to T and n (C 6)/ n ( i C 3). With the increase of l cat , m cat / m rea and T , the reaction time was shortened. The reaction selectivity decreased when the reaction temperature was above 180℃ or the n (C 6)/ n ( i C 3) was below 3.
