Efficacy of nasal high-flow oxygen for respiratory failure in lower intuition rate: a meta-analysis

2017
Objective To review the efficacy of nasal high-flow oxygen for respiratory failure in lower intuition rate. Methods The databases of CNKI (from establishment time to August, 2016), Cochrane Library(from tablishment time to August, 2016), WanFang Database (from establishment time to August, 2016), VIP (from establishment time to Augus, 2016) and PubMed (from 1995 to August, 2016) were retrieved with computer for searching randomized controlled trials (RCT) about treatment of respiratory failure with nasal high-flow oxygen. All included studies were given bias risk judgment, and then given a meta-analysis by using RevMan 5.3. Results There were totally 6 relative documents involving 1 041 patients divided into treatment group (n=491, treated with nasal high-flow oxygen) and control group (n=574, treated with conventional oxygen therapy or non-invasive ventilation). There were 106 cases with intution in treatment group and 187 in control group. The rate of intubation was lower in treatment group than that in control group. The results of meta-analysis showed intuition rate in nasal high-flow oxygen for respiratory failure was significant.[OR=0.72, 95%CI (0.54, 0.96), P<0.05]. Conclusions The incidence rate of intubation may be lower in nasal high-flow oxygen. As this analysis has limited quantity in RCT, more large-sample RCT with higher quality are required for further identifying the results.
