Analysis of clinical characteristics of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome overlap syndrome

Objective To study the clinical characteristics of overlap syndrome(OS).So as to provide a reference for the diagnosis of OS.Methods 96 patients as obstructive sleep apnea hypopnea syndrome(OSAHS),36 patients diagnosed as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),32 patients as OS and 13 people as normal control were enrolled. Body mass index(BMI),neck circumference(NC),Epworth sleepiness scale(ESS),apnea hypopnea index(AHI), Ts90,the longest apnea time(LAT),mean oxygen saturation(MSaO_2),lowest oxygen saturation(LSaO_2),forced expiratory volume in one second(FEV_1 ),FEV_1/forced vital capacity(FVC),PaO_2,PaCO_2 were measured and analyzed.Results BMI,NC,AHI,and ESS of OS patients were significantly higher than those in the other three groups,while the LSaO_2, MSaO_2,FEV_1 and FEV_1/FVC in OS group were significandy lower than those in the other three groups(P 0.05).Conclusion Patients as OS experienced more severe conditions,and more attention should be paid to OS to avoid missed diagnosis.
