Evaluation of High Temperature-Resistant Coatings for the Protection of Magnesium Alloys,

1973
Abstract : A number of commercially available high temperature resistant coatings have been evaluated by subjecting them to temperatures up to 350C for periods up to 1,000 hours, followed by exposure to corrosion tests. Only two paints, showed any degree of temperature resistance at 350C. The thermal stability of the polyimide coatings was good, but they failed due to their lack of adhesion to the chrome manganese film after exposures longer than 100 hours at 300C.
