THE ROLE OF AESTHETIC INDICATORS IN THE FORMATION OF CITY PEDESTRIAN SPACES. LIGHT TUNNELS

2020
The role of aesthetic indicators in the visual perception of pedestrian space, which affects the spatial concept of light and landscaping, is determined. The history of creation of light tunnels and principles of use of visual illusions for pedestrian spaces are described, principles of arrangement of green plantings, considering influence on an emotional condition of the pedestrian are investigated. The specifics of the formation of a modern network of pedestrian traffic requires emphasis not only on its organization and safety, but also on the aesthetics of areas, creating opportunities for isolation from noise and harmful effects for road users. These issues are successfully addressed by including in the system of footpaths significant green areas and innovative tools that reduce the negative impact of the environment on citizens. It is important to note that all these tools play a significant role in shaping the psycho-emotional state of a city resident, which in turn has a positive effect on his general health and ability to work.It is proposed to create light pedestrian spaces, taking into account the architectural and spatial environment. It should be noted that these spaces can be used both to improve the existing infrastructure (underground or overpasses, subway tunnels) and to create a completely new one - in the form of art capsules or light corridors. In addition to emotional balancing and anti-stress effects, these environments can also serve as a means of logistics for pedestrian traffic, namely, as an opportunity to redirect, distract pedestrian traffic or change the emphasis of urban space, increase the attractiveness of a zone or direction, as well as be used as green 3D structures, renewable energy batteries and the center of urban engineering networks.
